Getting to Atlantic City
Atlantic City, NJ is "within easy driving distance of a third of the U.S. populations, making it a prime meetings destination." The Internet says so, so it must be true! But this page lists options for getting there, so please read on and select what makes sense for you.
Atlantic City is about an hour drive from Philadelphia, just over 2 hours drive from New York City, and within an easy drive of many other locations on the Jersey Shore. So you can plan an extended trip if you would like. Or just follow any of the methods of getting to Harrah's in Atlantic City that follow. See our Atlantic City page for things to do once there.
In short, go here:
What, you want more? Okay.
From Center City Philadelphia, take the Walt Whitman Bridge to the Atlantic City Expressway (NJ 42-S). The drive is about 1 hour.
From PHL airport: Take I-95 North to the Walt Whitman Bridge. The only tricky part might be finding exit 19 [Walt Whitman Bridge] on I-95N from PHL. The exit lane appears without a sign and the actual overhead sign for exit 19 is near where the exit lane splits off of I-95. Just be sure to get in the right lane after Exit 17 [Broad Street] and once you see a 4th lane on your right [this is the exit lane], get over. If you wait for the overhead signage, you may be too late. Bear right at the fork as you go downhill on the exit and it will take you to the right bridge. Once you get over the Walt Whitman Bridge, you stay on I-76 [just do not be in far right lane]. Then take NJ-42 S which becomes the Atlantic City Expressway.
Once on the Atantic City Expressway, take Exit 1 towards the Convention Center/Marina/Brigantine and onto the Atlantic City-Brigantine Connector. Use the right 2 lanes but skip Exit F and take Exit G to Harrah's. Stay in left 2 lanes towards Harrah's just past the exit. Continue past the Golden Nugget, take the exit marked Harrah's. Take the left in front of the resort, and Self Park is on the left, Valet on the right.
From the south, take I-95 North to I-295 over the Delaware Memorial Bridge into NJ, and either I-295 or the New Jersey Turnpike to the Atlantic City Expressway. Take Exit 1 and follow the above to Harrah's.
From the Garden State Parkway, take Exit 40 onto US-30 E. After 2.6 miles, use the left 2 lanes to exit onto Brigantine towards the Marina, bear right on Exit G, and then left on Harrah's Blvd.
From St. Paul, Minnesota, your drive is just under 19 hours. Go to Philadelpha and then follow the directions above. Okay, enough! Click on the above map or just enter Harrah's into your smart phone.
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is just over an hour drive and the closest major airport. Atlantic City International Airport is under a 20 minute drive but only connects to or through 10 other cities. Newark Liberty International Airport would be nearly 2 hours, and other New York City airports even further. For most, we recommend PHL.
Once at PHL, rent a car or take public transportation. See options on the PHL website. For example, there are two shared-van shuttle services listed for Atlantic City on this page and other options in the next section.
